Level 2 charging equipment
$400-$800
A planning range for common residential charger hardware. Brand, output, cable length, controls, and listed features affect equipment price.
Palouse cost guide · Updated July 2026
Plan on about $400-$800 for Level 2 charging equipment and about $550-$1,600 for a straightforward installation.
The installation estimate changes with panel capacity, circuit rating, conductor route, access, charger location, trenching, and any panel or service changes. Commercial charging and detached-building installations require site-specific scope.

Site-specific estimate
Long routes, outdoor equipment, detached structures, load management, panel changes, and multiple charging spaces are estimated from the property.
The charger and installation are shown separately because equipment selection and electrical scope are different decisions. Crescent's written estimate should identify whether the charger is included or supplied separately.
A lower-complexity installation still depends on compatible charger requirements, panel capacity, circuit design, route, and parking location.
Most price differences come from the charging equipment, available electrical capacity, and the distance and conditions between the panel and parking space.
A hardwired charger and a receptacle-connected charger have different equipment, connection, and protection requirements.
The vehicle, charger, and configured output affect breaker and conductor requirements. More amperage is not automatically the better installation.
A full panel, limited service capacity, or incompatible equipment can require load management, a subpanel, or a separate panel or service estimate.
Long conductor runs, finished walls, attic or crawlspace access, exterior exposure, and difficult routing increase installation time and materials.
Underground routes and detached garages can require conduit, excavation, a feeder review, outdoor-rated equipment, and additional inspection steps.
Multiple charging spaces, parking layout, protective equipment, service demand, networking, and site access require a separate commercial estimate.
The charger price is only one part of the decision. Crescent checks how the selected equipment fits the vehicle, property, and existing electrical system.
